2014 NFL Draft order: List of Detroit Lions' picks

A look at where the Detroit Lions will pick in each round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

The complete 2014 NFL Draft order won't be finalized until later in the offseason. Aside from needing to settle a tie in the first round, the NFL also still has to hand out compensatory picks for 2014. Once they do those two things, the full seven-round order will be established.

In the meantime, we at least know where the Detroit Lions are scheduled to pick in each round. In the first round, they hold the 10th overall pick. Of the four teams that finished 7-9 in 2013, the Lions had the easiest schedule, so they ended up with the highest pick of the bunch. In the other six rounds, there's a rotation among the four 7-9 teams, and the Lions have to move to the back of the line in the second and sixth rounds.

Here's a rundown of the picks that currently belong to the Lions:

  • Round 1 - Pick No. 10
  • Round 2 - Pick No. 13
  • Round 3 - Pick No. 12
  • Round 4 - Pick No. 11
  • Round 6 - Pick No. 13
  • Round 7 - Pick No. 12

The Lions do not have a fifth-round pick this year because they traded it to the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2012 for wide receiver Mike Thomas. Thomas didn't even make the Lions' 53-man roster in 2013, and he took part in all of nine games for them following the trade. Unfortunately for Martin Mayhew, there is no undo button for trades, so the Lions currently have only six picks in the 2014 NFL Draft.
