Last season, in his first year as a full-time starter, defensive end Willie Young had 47 tackles and 3.0 sacks for the Detroit Lions. Now, as an unrestricted free agent, he's looking to cash in on those numbers. They may not seem all that impressive, but keep in mind that defensive end Everson Griffen, who has one career start and recorded 5.5 sacks last season, just got a five-year deal worth $42.5 million.
As Young looks to figure out his future, his first stop as a free agent will be in Jacksonville for a visit with the Jaguars, according to Adam Schefter.
Per @AdamSchefter, #Lions FA DE Willie Young is going to visit Jacksonville in the next 24 hours, per sources.

Currently, the Lions only have Ziggy Ansah, Jason Jones and Devin Taylor under contract at defensive end. Re-signing Young would help solidify the position, but it's entirely possible that he will get more money elsewhere. If that ends up happening, the Lions may have to look at signing a veteran or drafting another defensive end for additional depth at the position.
