Defensive end Willie Young's time with the Detroit Lions has come to an end. He's not joining the Jacksonville Jaguars after visiting them this week, though. Instead, Young is joining the Chicago Bears, meaning he will still get to play at Ford Field once a season.
Young's deal with the Bears is for three years. Here are the salary details:
Willie Young agreed to a 3-year, $9M deal with #Bears that included a $2M signing bonus and $3.95M total guaranteed.

As a full-time starter last season, Young had 47 tackles, 3.0 sacks and 5 passes defended. He finally followed up an outstanding preseason with a good regular season, and he finally displayed some consistency after showing a lot of potential in 2011, when he had 3.0 sacks in a limited role.
With Young headed to Chicago, the Lions have only Ziggy Ansah, Devin Taylor and Jason Jones under contract at defensive end. Darryl Tapp, who is visiting the Lions on Thursday, could potentially be added as extra depth at defensive end, but the Lions really need to upgrade their talent at this position.
