Phil Costa joins Colts; Scott Chandler re-signs with Bills

Two more free-agent options for the Detroit Lions are off the market.

Two more free agents who were reportedly drawing interest from the Detroit Lions have been signed by other teams. Center Phil Costa has joined the Indianapolis Colts, and tight end Scott Chandler has re-signed with the Buffalo Bills for two years.

Costa just visited the Lions on Wednesday. He left without a deal, and it wasn't clear at the time if he had other options or if the two sides were simply taking a wait-and-see approach. Now, obviously, it's clear that he had other options, and instead of joining the Lions to back up Dominic Raiola, he opted to sign with a Colts team that just released its starting center a week ago.

As for Chandler, the Lions reportedly had some talks with him about taking a visit. That visit never happened, though, and now Chandler is back with the Bills. He was viewed as a backup plan for Brandon Pettigrew at tight end, but Pettigrew hasn't actually made a decision yet on his future.

Earlier on Thursday, fullback Henry Hynoski decided to re-sign with the New York Giants after visiting the Lions.
