Quarterback Shaun Hill completed his visit with the St. Louis Rams on Tuesday. Luckily for the Detroit Lions, Hill's visit concluded without a deal being in place, meaning he is still a free agent... for now, anyway.
Free-agent QB Shaun Hill completes Rams visit and heads home w/out contract. But parties are still talking.

The Lions are also still talking with Hill based on what team president Tom Lewand said on Monday. Although Hill was visiting St. Louis, the Lions planned on staying in touch with him, and it appears that the door is still open for him to re-sign with Detroit.
In all honesty, this feels like exactly what happened in 2012. As an unrestricted free agent, Hill took a visit with the Rams, left without a deal and re-signed with the Lions shortly after. I'm not saying that things will play out the same way this time around, but it's obviously a good sign for the Lions that Hill left St. Louis without a deal. The Rams could still end up signing him, of course, but the Lions appear to still be in the mix for Hill as well.
