2014 NFL mock draft: Falcons select Khalil Mack

The Atlanta Falcons take Khalil Mack with the sixth pick of the 2014 POD Community Mock Draft.

Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

With the sixth pick in Pride Of Detroit's 2014 NFL mock draft, the Atlanta Falcons select Buffalo outside linebacker Khalil Mack. TerribleTyler56 is serving as the Falcons' general manager, and his reasoning for the pick is below.

Pass rusher has been a glaring need for the Falcons for the past few years, so when Khalil Mack fell to me at No. 6, I had to select him. One of the most versatile players in the draft, Mack would be a perfect fit for the Falcons' hybrid 3-4 defense. He played all over the front seven at Buffalo and has the ability to play standing up or with his hands on the ground.

Mack would give the Falcons the productivity on defense that they have desperately needed, as he came away with 94 tackles, 10.5 sacks and 3 interceptions in his final season at Buffalo. With great burst and a violent style of play, the rangy Mack is a beast who will wreak havoc on opposing offenses throughout his career.
