Lions host Cody Latimer for pre-draft visit, work out Jaylen Watkins

The Detroit Lions brought in Indiana wide receiver Cody Latimer for a pre-draft visit on Friday, and they also worked out Jaylen Watkins, who is Sammy Watkins' half-brother.

The Detroit Lions continued their pre-draft visits on Friday by bringing in Indiana wide receiver Cody Latimer. He is the third wide receiver who has taken a pre-draft visit with the Lions so far, as Detroit previously brought in Clemson's Martavis Bryant and Sammy Watkins.

At Indiana, Latimer put up some big numbers in 2013. He had 72 catches for 1,096 yards and 9 touchdowns, and he decided to leave school a year early. In his three seasons at Indiana, he had a total of 135 catches for 2,042 yards and 17 touchdowns.

In other draft news, Dave Birkett reports that the Lions privately worked out Washington tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Florida defensive back Jaylen Watkins. The Watkins news is particularly interesting because he is Sammy Watkins' half-brother. Jaylen is a good player in his own right, and his defensive coordinator at Florida in 2010 was actually Teryl Austin, but that workout likely gave the Lions yet another chance to ask questions about Sammy as well.

What's next for the Lions? LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger is expected to work out for the team on Saturday.
