With the 37th pick in Pride Of Detroit's 2014 NFL mock draft, the Atlanta Falcons select TCU cornerback Jason Verrett. TerribleTyler56 is serving as the Falcons' general manager, and his reasoning for the pick is below.
I wanted to address Atlanta's offensive line or select one of the top three tight ends with my second-round pick, but there weren't any offensive tackles that I felt comfortable taking at No. 37, and the top tight ends were gone. I decided to turn my attention to the secondary and select Jason Verrett from TCU.
Verrett is a bit undersized at 5'10 but is a solid football player who can play at RCB or in the slot. He is a fluid athlete with excellent ball skills who had an impressive combine after running a sub-4.4 40-yard dash and recording a 39-inch vertical leap. In three years as a starter at TCU, Verrett had 9 interceptions and 41 passes defended. Along with Robert Alford and Desmond Trufant, Verrett will help solidify the Falcons' secondary.
