In addition to hosting Oklahoma State cornerback Justin Gilbert on Thursday, the Detroit Lions brought in BYU outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy for a pre-draft visit. During the visit, Van Noy got a chance to see former BYU teammate and roommate Ziggy Ansah, who was the Lions' first-round pick a year ago.
Good to see the fam @Ziggy_Ansah today! Some thingssss never change.... Ha!

Van Noy could be a potential target of the Lions in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. The Lions could use help at outside linebacker, and Van Noy was quite good at that position at BYU. As a senior in 2013, he had 67 total tackles, 17.0 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks, 2 interceptions (for 1 touchdown) and 7 passes defended. He would upgrade their pass-rushing abilities, and he would likely become a full-time starter at outside linebacker over Ashlee Palmer.
Van Noy would certainly be a solid addition for his football skills, and adding him would be pretty cool just for his connection to Ansah.
Ziggy played with Van Noy at BYU, said lots of good things about him. Van Noy: "He better say (good things) since I taught him how to play."

If the Lions don't address their need at outside linebacker in the first round, Van Noy will definitely be worth keeping an eye on in the second round.
