The Detroit Lions' offseason training program begins next Monday, kicking off the start of preparations for the 2014 season. The Lions will continue getting ready for the season with a voluntary minicamp later this month, and there will be the usual mandatory minicamp in June. In between, the Lions will have three sets of organized team activities as well.
Here's the full schedule for the Lions' 2014 OTAs and minicamps:
OTAs
May 20-22
May 27-29
June 2-5
Minicamps
April 22-24 (voluntary)
June 10-12 (mandatory)
The Lions will also hold a rookie minicamp following the draft for their picks and undrafted free agent signings. Then, they will get together for team-wide activities for the first time after the draft with OTAs from May 20-22. There will be more OTAs at the end of May and the start of June before the Lions wrap up this portion of the offseason with a mandatory minicamp from June 10-12. After that, the team will get around a month and a half off before everybody returns for the start of training camp at the end of July.
