Lions' 2014 preseason schedule announced

The 2014 preseason schedule for the Detroit Lions has been announced.

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

The 2014 NFL preseason schedule was announced on Wednesday afternoon. Like always, specific dates and times for games not on national television weren't included in the announcement, but we now know the four teams the Detroit Lions will face in the 2014 preseason.

As usual, the Lions are set to meet the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills. Since the Lions went to Cleveland last year, the Browns are headed to Ford Field this year, although the Lions are going to Buffalo for the second year in a row. The Lions will get to face Nate Burleson and the Browns in Week 1 of the preseason before closing things out in Week 4 against Jim Schwartz and the Bills.

The Lions' other two games will come against the Oakland Raiders (on the road in Week 2) and Jacksonville Jaguars (at home in Week 3).

Here's a look at the full 2014 Lions preseason schedule:

Date Opponent Time (ET) TV
Saturday, August 9
vs. Cleveland Browns 7:30 p.m.
Friday, August 15
at Oakland Raiders 10 p.m.
Friday, August 22
vs. Jacksonville Jaguars 7:30 p.m. WXYZ (ABC)
Thursday, August 28
at Buffalo Bills 7 p.m.

The 2014 NFL regular-season schedule should be announced later this month. We already know the Lions' opponents for 2014, but the full schedule is currently unknown.
