The Detroit Lions haven't played a game since December, but they are still trying to get healthy as a team. Several players are still recovering from offseason surgery or other bumps and bruises, as evidenced by the unofficial injury report from Wednesday's organized team activity. Seven players were sidelined by injuries, and three more were only able to practice on a limited basis, according to Tim Twentyman. Here's the rundown:
Unable to practice
RB Joique Bell
DE Ziggy Ansah
DE Kourtnei Brown
DT Nick Fairley
LB Brandon Hepburn
CB Chris Houston
CB Chris Greenwood
Limited in practice
OG Rob Sims
DE Jason Jones
S Glover Quin
Among those players, Fairley and Houston were completely absent, according to Kyle Meinke. We know that Houston just had toe surgery and Fairley is recovering from a recent "procedure," and both players are apparently still at home recovering. The other players were at the practice but were simply sidelined or limited.
Wide receiver Golden Tate was also absent from Wednesday's practice, but he's not injured. He is actually at the White House to be honored along with his former Seattle Seahawks teammates for winning the Super Bowl. I'd say that's a pretty good reason to miss practice.
