Positions (first round)

  • Cornerback - 20
  • Wide receiver - 13
  • Safety - 9
  • Outside linebacker - 4
  • Offensive tackle - 2
  • Defensive tackle - 2
  • Tight end - 1

As usual, cornerback is leading the pack in the position breakdown with a pretty solid lead over second place. What's interesting is that second place is now wide receiver. Safety had an 11-4 lead over wide receiver in our last mock draft database, but wide receiver has made a big push in our final edition.

Players (first round)

  • CB Justin Gilbert - 11
  • S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix - 8
  • WR Odell Beckham Jr. - 7
  • CB Darqueze Dennard - 7
  • WR Mike Evans - 4
  • OLB Anthony Barr - 4
  • WR Sammy Watkins - 2
  • DT Aaron Donald - 2
  • TE Eric Ebron - 1
  • OT Jake Matthews - 1
  • OT Taylor Lewan - 1
  • CB Kyle Fuller - 1
  • CB Bradley Roby - 1
  • S Calvin Pryor - 1

Unsurprisingly, Justin Gilbert is still the leader in the player breakdown. He was the leader way back in February after the Super Bowl, and he's still the favorite for the Lions' first-round pick. His lead has actually been trimmed down quite a bit over the last month or so, but it's clear that most analysts still expect the Lions to draft Gilbert.

One final note: Odell Beckham Jr. went from being in zero mock drafts in our last database to being in seven this time around. Clearly people are warming up to the idea of him being the Lions' first-round pick (either at 10 or later after a trade down). If Sammy Watkins and Mike Evans are gone, perhaps the Lions will take a serious look at making Beckham Jr. their first-round pick.
