Handing out draft grades immediately after a pick is made is always a dangerous proposition. The fact of the matter is that nobody knows how draft picks will turn out until the players actually get on the field, and it often takes a few years to get a real clear picture of if a pick was a good one or a mistake. This can lead to some grades and statements that you look back on years later and think, "Did I really say that?"
With that disclaimer out of the way, I will say that part of the fun of the draft is to make snap judgments, and there's perhaps no better way to make a snap judgment than by assigning a grade to a pick.
For the Detroit Lions' pick of tight end Eric Ebron in the first round, the grades have generally fallen somewhere in the B or C range. On CBS Sports, for example, Derek Stephens gave the Lions a C+ and Pete Prisco went with a C-. On SB Nation and Sports Illustrated, meanwhile, the Lions got a B for the Ebron pick.
What grade do you think the Lions should get for taking Ebron? Vote in the poll below and leave your thoughts in the comments.
