Considering Jim Caldwell has yet to coach the Detroit Lions in a single game, it's admittedly a bit premature to be doing an approval poll for him. However, in the interest of getting a starting point for his approval rating, let's go ahead and do just that.
With Caldwell's record with the Lions currently standing at 0-0, what criteria should be used for an approval poll like this? Even though he hasn't coached in any games with the Lions, Caldwell has already made a lot of important decisions since being hired back in January. He had to assemble a coaching staff, for example, and he's also played a big role in deciding the Lions' new offensive and defensive schemes.
More than anything, I suppose the best way to look at this poll is from this general perspective: Based on what he's done since he was hired, do you approve of Caldwell as head coach of the Lions? It's true that Caldwell's record in the regular season and beyond will be the only thing that truly matters in the end, but at least for right now, there are actually plenty of things to consider when voting on his approval rating.
So, with that in mind, vote in the poll below and leave your thoughts in the comments.
