Lions notes: Calvin Johnson, Jed Collins, more

Lions notes looks at Calvin Johnson, Jed Collins and much more.

Ronald Martinez
  • In case you missed it last week, the Detroit Lions' official site has video of the feature on Calvin Johnson from NFL Network's top 100 countdown.

  • Johnson said last week on NFL Network that the Lions are "definitely in a place" where they feel like they could make a run at winning a Super Bowl.

  • After having a lot of success running behind Jed Collins in New Orleans during the 2011 preseason, Joique Bell is glad that Collins is now on the Lions.

  • Here's one person's 2014 stat projection for Golden Tate:
  • Defensive end Spencer Nealy, who spent part of the 2013 offseason with the Lions and now plays for the Minnesota Vikings, has been suspended for four games for violating the NFL's "policy on performance enhancing substances."

  • The Andre Johnson situation in Houston is starting to get really interesting. It doesn't sound like a trade is all that likely at this point, but that could obviously change if the Texans later decide that it's simply best to just move on. (And no, the Lions don't have the cap space to trade for him.)

  • The NFL is basically printing money at this point.
