In the surest sign yet that Detroit Lions training camp is almost here, the team's rookies officially reported to Allen Park on Tuesday. Some veterans, including players who are injured, were also scheduled to report on Tuesday, but the rest of the team isn't scheduled to report until Sunday.
Upon arriving for training camp, a few rookies actually met with the media, including wide receiver TJ Jones, center Travis Swanson, offensive lineman Bryce Quigley and quarterback James Franklin. Here's a look at what they had to say:
Lions WR TJ Jones said he's not quite 100 percent yet, still needs to prove his shoulder can take a block, but feels good overall.

Lions rookie Travis Swanson said he's been in town since last week. Already found his place.

Lions OG Bryce Quigley said he's completely recovered from January Lisfranc surgery. Got married last week, ready to practice.

Lions rookie QB James Franklin got married this summer. He's allergic to metal, though, so the ring is rubbing away skin on his finger.

The rookies will undergo physicals and continue to get acclimated to the NFL while they wait for the Lions' veterans to arrive over the course of the rest of the week. Then, next Monday, the rookies and veterans will hit the field together for the Lions' first training camp practice of 2014.
