On Wednesday night, we will find out exactly where Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson is ranked in NFL Network's Top 100 Players of 2014. Johnson is somewhere in the top 10, and when he's officially ranked, the Lions will have a total of five players in this year's top 100.
Last week, CBS Sports' Pete Prisco revealed his own top 100 for the 2014 NFL season. Unlike NFL Network's top 100, only three Lions players made Prisco's list:
6. Calvin Johnson
21. Ndamukong Suh
91. Larry Warford
Comparing this to NFL Network's top 100, there are some pretty big differences. For starters, Prisco has Suh much higher than NFL Network -- 21st vs. 40th -- and he does not have DeAndre Levy, Reggie Bush or Matthew Stafford in his top 100. Those three players were 59th, 85th and 100th, respectively, in NFL Network's top 100.
The other difference is that Warford didn't make NFL Network's list, but Prisco ranked him 91st. It's nice to see that someone took notice of how good Warford was last season. He was one of the top guards in all of the NFL, but Warford hasn't received all that much recognition for his play. Perhaps that will change if he continues to perform at a high level in his second season in the NFL.
What are your thoughts on Prisco's top 100?
