Lions training camp: Notes from Monday

News and notes from Monday's Detroit Lions training camp practice.

  • The Detroit Lions resumed training camp on Monday with an indoor practice. Calvin Johnson took part in it after missing the Lions' preseason opener, and Theo Riddick and Tahir Whitehead both practiced after leaving Saturday's game with injuries.

  • Out for the Lions on Monday were Ziggy Ansah, TJ Jones, Larry Warford and Don Carey. Ansah and Jones remain on the PUP list, so their absence was expected. It's unclear what's wrong with Carey, but we know that Warford is sick, so he wasn't out because of an injury.

  • With Warford out, Rodney Austin took over as the first-team right guard, according to Kyle Meinke.

  • This isn't a surprise or anything, but Dan Orlovsky is still the Lions' No. 2 quarterback, at least for now.

  • This is interesting: The Lions didn't have much to say about this change after practice, and it's unclear if this was just a one-day thing or if Mosley has moved ahead of Fairley. Either way, this will be worth monitoring going forward.

  • Matthew Stafford's streak of not throwing an interception during training camp came to an end on Monday.
