Lions notes: Travis Swanson, Larry Warford, more

Lions notes looks at Travis Swanson, Larry Warford and much more.

Leon Halip
  • Travis Swanson isn't quite sure why he's had so many issues snapping the ball as of late. A botched snap against the Cleveland Browns resulted in a turnover last week, and he's had several more bad snaps over the course of training camp. Hopefully whatever is causing these issues will be worked out sooner rather than later.

  • Grantland's Robert Mays took a look at the work LeCharles Bentley has done with offensive linemen, and a good portion of the story focuses on what he's done with Larry Warford.

  • Speaking of Warford, he was the only Detroit Lions player who made Mark Dominik's "ultimate 53-man NFL roster" on ESPN. (Warford's strong play last season and his cap-friendly contract were the main factors behind his inclusion on the roster.)

  • What are the odds of Matthew Stafford leading the NFL in passing yards? Is Calvin Johnson the favorite to lead the NFL in receiving yards? ESPN's Michael Rothstein has the answer to both of those questions.

  • The Lions' annual kickoff luncheon is scheduled for Aug. 27.
