As expected, safety James Ihedigbo is inactive for the Detroit Lions. Thanks to knee and neck injuries, the Lions will be without their starting strong safety, meaning that Isa Abdul-Quddus will have to be ready to step in as a starter on Monday night against the New York Giants.
In an unexpected move, the Lions have also declared wide receivers Ryan Broyles and Kevin Ogletree inactive for Monday's game. This means that Corey Fuller and Jeremy Ross will likely see playing time at wide receiver, and it also means that Eric Ebron will likely get a lot of playing time. Broyles and Ogletree figured to have some kind of a role in the offense, but the Lions are going in a different direction for their season opener.
Here's the Lions' full list of inactives:
QB Kellen Moore
WR Ryan Broyles
WR Kevin Ogletree
OT Cornelius Lucas
DE Larry Webster
S James Ihedigbo
S Don Carey
And here are the Giants' inactives:
WR Odell Beckham Jr.
OT Charles Brown
OT James Brewer
OG Adam Snyder
DE Kerry Wynn
DT Markus Kuhn
DT Jay Bromley
