The Atlanta Falcons appear to be progressing in their search for a new head coach, as the team has started scheduling second interviews with candidates. It's unclear how many candidates are being brought in for a second meeting, but Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin appears to be one of the finalists for the job.

In addition to Austin, the Falcons are planning to speak with Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles a second time, according to Adam Schefter. The New York Jets are also going to interview Bowles a second time, indicating that he's probably going to get a head coaching job somewhere this offseason.

For the Lions' sake, the hope is that Bowles will get the Atlanta job. Austin isn't in the mix for the Jets gig, but clearly the Falcons are quite interested in him. The Chicago Bears also appear to be quite interested in Austin, as they are planning on interviewing him on Tuesday.

Austin has also drawn interest from the San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills. The Bills hired Rex Ryan instead, but the 49ers job is still vacant.
