- Two Detroit Lions players had surgery last week: Joique Bell and LaAdrian Waddle. It's unclear what injury required surgery for Bell, who described the operation as a "success." For Waddle, it's likely that he had surgery to repair his partially torn ACL.
- He may be done in Detroit, but it appears that Dominic Raiola is not interested in retiring at this point.

- In an interview with the Lions' official site, Martin Mayhew discussed how a year of experience with the team's new offensive and defensive schemes will help him this offseason. Obviously the returning players will benefit from not having to adjust to a new scheme this year, but Mayhew will also benefit since he now has a much better idea of what kind of guys are a good fit for Joe Lombardi and Teryl Austin's systems.
- The NFL and CBS have agreed to extend their Thursday Night Football partnership through the 2015 season.
