Lions notes: Calvin Johnson pulls out of Pro Bowl

Lions notes looks at Calvin Johnson, Crezdon Butler and much more.

  • Calvin Johnson has once again decided to skip the Pro Bowl in order to recover from an injury. This year, he's got an ankle injury that needs to heal, so he has pulled out of the game and been replaced by New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

  • The Detroit Lions signed cornerback Crezdon Butler to a futures deal on Wednesday.

  • Pete Morelli and the other officials from last Sunday better never officiate another NFL game. The missed calls that went Dallas' way obviously came at a really bad time for the Lions, but Morelli and his crew were apparently equally incompetent for both teams in the NFL's eyes.

  • Matthew Stafford was mic'd up for the Dallas game, and he ripped into the officials after the pass interference no-call.

  • Even President Barack Obama, who is a Chicago Bears fan, feels for Lions fans after what happened on Sunday.

  • In case you're not feeling bad enough about the last couple of weeks, the Free Press has put together a list of the most disappointing moments in Lions history.
