When Eric Ebron went down with a knee injury in Seattle, it looked bad. Ebron went straight to the locker room and was quickly ruled as out for the rest of the game. Later in the week, reports surfaced that Ebron would miss at least three weeks. However, it appears Ebron is well head of schedule as he returned to practice Wednesday, just eight days after suffering the injury. His availability this week is still in question, however, as Ebron was a limited participant.
Elsewhere along the injury report, Joique Bell and Larry Warford both returned to practice without limitation. Bell and Warford were inactive last week against Arizona, and their return could certainly help a struggling Lions offense.
On the defensive side, James Ihedigbo took the day off because of his lingering quad injury. While Haloti Ngata remained sidelined with the same calf injury that held him out of Sunday's game.
And to follow up on Wednesday morning's news that linebacker DeAndre Levy will undergo surgery for his hip injury, it appears the Lions will not make an long-term determination on Levy's availability for a few weeks:
#Lions will wait 2-3 weeks before making a call on DeAndre Levy, who is having hip surgery. Could return for a month or more, could be on IR
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) October 14, 2015
It still seems likely that Levy lands on the season-ending IR list, but the Lions want to do their due diligence before making that decision.
The Lions' opponent for this week, the Chicago Bears, received a bit of good news on the injury front as Alshon Jeffery returned to practice with limited participation. Jeffery has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since Week 1.
