It doesn't help that my favorite team is 0-5 and two season-altering losses in back-to-back seasons were influenced significantly by incompetent NFL employees with no grasp of the NFL rule book -- okay, it really doesn't help and might be a big reason why I'm getting soft here -- but I have seriously contemplated abandoning the NFL.
Their history in ineptitude and lack of awareness for human decency really speaks for itself, but it was this DeAngelo Williams story (and the link to another story within that one) that really got my blood boiling. I get it; this isn't 'Nam, there are rules. But c'mon now (I know, really compelling argument I just made there). I don't know what Williams requested of the league -- he could've asked to wear a pink-tinted bubble for all I know -- but there has to be some alternative the NFL could have recommended so they didn't come off looking like heartless suits, like they always do, and Williams gets to continue to draw attention to a great cause and honor his mother.
It's not just that story or even the Cameron Heyward fine. Really, it's a totality of the circumstances for me with the NFL. The League has tested my moral fibers time and time again and I feel dirty that it has taken me this long to even consider it. And I'm seriously considering it...
Wait, Stafford won his appeal? I'm back!
Let's all gamble and lose together:

Last week: 5-9
Standings: If you're not first, you're last. I'm last.
JonnieT remains in the top 10 at 40-33. Scriggl, after a rough 3-11, falls to 38-38.
If picking all of the games against the spread isn't your thing, let me know if you're interested in starting a midseason FourPlay Football league. You pick 4 games each week with a teased spread, +14 in your favor. It's a Detroit-based start up so be a part of something local. Also, ask me about becoming a Guru (to replace me)!
