Lions notes: Detroit to call up Winn from practice squad, The Onion takes shot at Caldwell

The Detroit Lions roster was shaken up a bit after more injuries and Jim Caldwell gets teased by The Onion.

  • After it was announced by Jim Caldwell that Zach Zenner would be out for the season, it was reported that George Winn will be promoted from the practice squad to the active roster. However, don't expect to see a lot of Winn, especially if Joique Bell returns to the lineup this week, which seems quite likely.

  • The Detroit Lions' practice squad lost another member on Monday: Mills has already spent time with the Bears, Cowboys and Lions since September. His journey will now continue in Buffalo.

  • The satirical website The Onion had a funny blurb about Jim Caldwell on Monday.

  • Monday we gave some love to the Lions' offense. Now it's the defense's turn:
  • The strange injury to Brandon Pettigrew's knee was not made any clearer by Caldwell during his Monday press conference: Remember, it was a hamstring injury that held Pettigrew out earlier in the season, so this seems unrelated.
