As Detroit Lions receiver Calvin Johnson snagged a 57-yard catch that would seal the first victory for his team, he rolled onto his knees, sat there for a few seconds and just nodded. He knew he had just won the game for his team. Now Calvin has another accomplishment to add to his long list of accolades.
Johnson was named the Week 6 NFC offensive player of the week. He hauled in 166 receiving yards and the go-ahead touchdown with just 21 seconds remaining in regulation.
This is the fourth time Johnson has won the award, placing him second all-time among Lions, behind only Barry Sanders, who won the award 11 times.
Johnson's teammate, Matthew Stafford, is also up for an award this week. Stafford is a nominee for the Week 6 FedEx Air Player of the Week. Vote for him here.
