The names on the injury report are trimming for the Lions but bigger names are appearing. As the Lions practiced at The Grove in Chandler's Cross to prepare for the Sunday match against the Chiefs on the pitch at Wembley (these are soccer terms y'all) it was reported that Calvin Johnson was sitting out practice for Wednesday. However, reports indicate that there's nothing to be concerned with as it appears to be a routine day of rest.
Matthew Stafford participated in full practice Wednesday, but there's concern there as he is now listed on the report with a quad injury. Given how many times he's been hit this season, it's unsurprising that Stafford is a bit dinged up. However, full practice participation means the Lions shouldn't be too worried about their QB starting on Sunday morning.
LaAdrian Waddle and DeAndre Levy sat out practice with injuries. It seems possible that Levy will not be done for the season but able to return from the hip surgery he underwent, although that timetable remains unclear. Waddle sat out with his lingering knee issue. Brandon Pettigrew remains a wildcard. He was limited in practice but hope remains he'll be able to return soon and give the Lions some much needed blocking from the tight end position.
The full injury report follows.
