The Lions returned to practice on Wednesday to prepare for the Oakland Raiders, and also to take stock of the devastation wrought upon the secondary unit and others during the showdown in Green Bay. A few names were missing from the first practice of the week, including star wide receiver Calvin Johnson, who is once again nursing an ankle injury. Nevin Lawson remains out following news that he suffered a concussion on Sunday, and defensive tackle Gabe Wright is out with his own ankle injury.
Nevin Lawson was one of the cornerbacks helped from the field late in the game against the Packers. He remains in the NFL's concussion protocol at this time. The other, Josh Wilson, has been placed on season-ending injured reserve. Other Lions missing on Wednesday were Don Carey with a back strain and Jason Jones, who was getting a day off.
Calvin Johnson has been battling his ankle injury for several weeks now, and the nagging issue has come to the point where he is now missing practice. It remains to be seen if he will play Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.
A few more Lions were limited in practice with their own wounds. Ziggy Ansah is back on the injury report, having hurt one of his toes. Joique Bell, who has battled injuries all season, is also listed with a shoulder issue and was limited. The full injury report follows.
