Although the Detroit Lions did not practice Monday, they were required by the NFL to release an injury report due to the fact that they will be playing the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday. Considering there's not much else going on right now on a Monday basking in the afterglow of victory beneath the cold harsh coming of winter, we might as well get it out of the way. A handful of Lions are listed as expected to be limited in practice, including Eric Ebron. The Lions tight end has appeared on the injury report for the first time in weeks with a quad/hand injury. Darius Slay has also made an appearance on the report with a neck injury.
It's unclear when Ebron suffered his injuries but he was not on the report in weeks prior. Some of the usual suspects also populate the list, including Calvin Johnson's and Gabe Wright's ankle strains. Also new to the report this week is Crezdon Butler, who is mysterious listed as limited with an injury that simply reads "teeth." Huh. There's probably a painful story involved in that one.
As for the Lions' opponents, the Eagles did practice Monday and released an injury report as well. Of particular note is that running back Ryan Matthews did not practice, still out with a concussion and groin strain. Linebacker Kiko Alonso was in full practice. A curious point emerged as Sam Bradford was back in limited practice (listed on the report with concussion/left shoulder issues). It is assumed that backup Mark Sanchez will get the start for the Eagles, but Bradford may be in consideration as the week progresses. The full injury report follows.
