In what happens to be a strange coincidence, as the Detroit Lions are in the midst of a search for a new general manager, Matt Millen, a man who once held that position, returned to the broadcast booth for the NFL. In the second half of the Colts-Buccaneers game, Millen addressed his time in Detroit:
Matt Millen just said he made a tactical error in leaving the bcast booth because he thought he could run a team, then apologized to Detroit
— Matt Hoeppner (@matthoeppner) November 29, 2015
The timing and setting of this apology are quite bizarre. Millen has had plenty of opportunities to publicly apologize, as he has been a part of college football broadcasts since 2009, including games featuring Michigan and Michigan State. But better late than never, I suppose.
UPDATE: @anthonytaylor_ was able to catch video of the apology:
@ZODIAC_MF do you care to respond to Matt Millen? pic.twitter.com/G62VDNKVck
