Lions injury report: Ameer Abdullah, Travis Swanson nursing shoulder injuries

Wednesday's injury report features a few new names this week.

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

As the Detroit Lions' season comes to a conclusion on Sunday, they will still have to suit up one last time against the rival Chicago Bears. The Lions took the practice field Wednesday in preparation for the finale, but were a little more beat up than usual.

Ameer Abdullah and Travis Swanson were new the injury report, both dealing with shoulder injuries. Abdullah has not missed a game for his entire rookie season, however he was only limited in practice today, so it would be a surprise if he did not play.

Swanson, on the other hand, did not practice today and has dealt with a few injuries this season, including an ankle injury earlier in the month. If he cannot play on Sunday, Manny Ramirez would likely get the nod.

Calvin Johnson also took his normal Wednesday off. But in his press conference prior to practice, Johnson said he is not going to sit against the Bears this week. Expect him to play.

For the Chicago Bears, today they announced that Alshon Jeffery and Eddie Goldman have been placed on the injured reserve list, making them ineligible for Week 17's game.
