Positions (first round)

  • Defensive tackle - 21
  • Offensive tackle - 5
  • Running back - 4
  • Cornerback - 2

Unsurprisingly, defensive tackle is the heavy favorite for the Detroit Lions in the first round. With the Lions' top four defensive tackles all headed for free agency and there being so much uncertainty with Ndamukong Suh's future, most people are predicting the Lions to take a defensive tackle with the 23rd overall pick.

Players (first round)

  • DT Malcom Brown (Texas) - 10
  • DT Eddie Goldman (Florida State) - 7
  • RB Melvin Gordon (Wisconsin) - 4
  • DT Jordan Phillips (Oklahoma) - 2
  • OT Andrus Peat (Stanford) - 1
  • OT Ereck Flowers (Miami, FL) - 1
  • OT La'el Collins (LSU) - 1
  • OT/C Cameron Erving (Florida State) - 1
  • OT/OG T.J. Clemmings (Pittsburgh) - 1
  • DT Michael Bennett (Ohio State) - 1
  • DT Carl Davis (Iowa) - 1
  • CB Marcus Peters (Washington) - 1
  • CB P.J. Williams (Florida State) - 1

Texas defensive tackle Malcom Brown is the most popular player in mock drafts for the Lions right now. He edged out Florida State's Eddie Goldman, who is also a defensive tackle.

The rest of the list is comprised of a few other defensive tackles, Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon, five different offensive linemen and two different cornerbacks.
