In news that comes as absolutely no surprise, the Atlanta Falcons have concluded their coaching search by hiring Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn. The hire hasn't been officially announced by the Falcons just yet, but the deal was reportedly completed in the middle of the night following the Super Bowl.
Falcons and their HC Dan Quinn reached agreement on a 5-year contract, per source. Quinn is expected to fly to Atlanta with Falcons today.

Quinn to the Falcons has really been the NFL's worst-kept secret for a few weeks now. At one point, it looked like the Detroit Lions might lose defensive coordinator Teryl Austin to the Falcons when he received a second interview in Atlanta. Quickly, though, it became obvious that the Falcons were willing to wait to hire Quinn, and that's ultimately what ended up happening.
With the Falcons job finally filled, Austin should be back with the Lions next season as their defensive coordinator. The Lions really dodged a bullet this offseason considering Austin drew so much interest in various coaching searches. The Lions may not be quite as lucky next offseason, but getting Austin back for at least one more year is a huge boost to their chances of contending in 2015.
