What 2015 draft picks do the Lions currently have?

Let's take a look at what 2015 draft picks currently belong to the Detroit Lions.

Jerry Lai-USA TODAY Sports

With three total draft picks involved in this week's Haloti Ngata trade between the Detroit Lions and Baltimore Ravens, there has been some confusion over what selections the Lions still have left for 2015. In order to clear up that confusion, here's a rundown of what 2015 draft picks currently belong to the Lions:

  • Round 1 - Pick No. 23
  • Round 2 - Pick No. 22
  • Round 3 - Pick No. 24
  • Round 6 - Pick No. 24
  • Round 7 - Pick No. 14 (from Miami via Baltimore)
  • Round 7 - Pick No. 23

The Lions have their original picks in every round but the fourth and fifth. Those two picks went to Baltimore in exchange for Ngata. The Lions also got a seventh-round pick in that trade, but it's not the Ravens' original selection in that round. Instead, it's a pick that originally belonged to the Miami Dolphins but was dealt to Baltimore.

In all, the Lions have six total picks in the 2015 NFL Draft right now: three in the first three rounds, none in the fourth and fifth rounds and three in the final two rounds. It's possible that the Lions could get an extra pick or two when compensatory selections are handed out later this month, but that isn't projected to happen.
