2015 NFL Draft grades: Grade the Lions' Ameer Abdullah pick

What grade should the Detroit Lions get for their pick of Ameer Abdullah in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft?

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

Going into the second day of the 2015 NFL Draft, it was pretty clear that the Detroit Lions were going to take a running back. It wasn't clear if they would take one in the second or third round, though, and it also wasn't clear who would be the top remaining back on their board.

As it turns out, the Lions went with Nebraska's Ameer Abdullah in the second round. Indiana's Tevin Coleman, Boise State's Jay Ajayi and Miami's Duke Johnson were all available, but Abdullah had the edge on Detroit's big board.

While there are concerns about Abdullah's fumbling issues, he is definitely a home-run threat, and that's what the Lions were looking for in a potential running back after releasing Reggie Bush earlier in the year. Now they have Abdullah to go along with Joique Bell and Theo Riddick in their backfield.

What grade do you give the Lions for this pick?
