The Detroit Lions' decision to take Duke offensive guard Laken Tomlinson has generally received pretty positive reviews. Here on Pride Of Detroit, for example, 46 percent of voters have given the pick an A grade, and 44 percent have gone with a B grade. In other words, most people have at least given the Lions a B for picking Tomlinson.
This is pretty much in line with the national media's reaction to this pick. SB Nation's Dan Kadar gave the Lions a B- for the pick, while CBS Sports' Pete Prisco went with a B+. Here's more national reaction to the pick:
The #Lions select Duke guard Laken Tomlinson at No. 28. They may have the league’s best guards now.

Tomlinson is an interesting selection here for Detroit. Two powerful, squatty guards for the Lions. An over-powering interior blocker.

Best "value" for a team, when compared to my big board? #Lions Laken Tomlinson who I had as 10th best player in this class.

Laken Tomlinson allowed 0 sacks, 0 hits and 4 hurries last year. The best pass blocking guard in college last year.
