With the 2015 NFL Draft complete, win totals for the upcoming season have been released by Bovada. For those unfamiliar with the way this works, teams are assigned win totals and odds on whether they will go over or under that number. Not only do the specific win totals give us an idea of what baseline expectations are for each team, but the odds give an indication of what the reaction is to those expectations.
In the case of the Detroit Lions, their win total has been set at eight for the second year in a row. Also for the second year in a row, the over is the favored outcome:
Over 8 wins: -130
Under 8 wins: Even
A year ago, the over was set at -150 odds for the Lions, while the under was the underdog at +130. This year, the under apparently wouldn't be that big of an upset given that it has even odds, but the expectation still seems to be that the Lions will at least go 9-7.
Speaking of last year, 84 percent of voters went with the over in our poll on whether the Lions would win more or fewer than eight games. That group turned out to be correct, as the Lions ended up going 11-5 in the regular season.
Will the Lions hit the over again this year? Vote in the poll below, and as a reminder, here is the Lions' 2015 schedule:
