With their seventh pick in the 2015 NFL Draft and the 240th overall selection, the Detroit Lions have selected South Carolina offensive tackle Corey Robinson. Robinson is the second offensive lineman drafted by the Lions this year, as they previously took offensive guard Laken Tomlinson in the first round.
Robinson stands at 6-foot-7 and 324 pounds, and he has an arm length of 35 5/8 inches. Needless to say, he's got good size for the offensive tackle position, and he had 35 career starts at left tackle at South Carolina.
CBS Sports actually projected Robinson to be a fourth- or fifth-round pick, while NFL.com had him going in the seventh round or undrafted. As we now know, Robinson ended up being a seventh-round pick, and now he's going to a Lions team that already has some decent depth at offensive tackle between Riley Reiff, LaAdrian Waddle, Cornelius Lucas and Michael Williams. The Lions could use a bit more top-line talent at this position, but now they are pretty much set from a depth standpoint.
What are your thoughts on this pick?
