The Detroit Lions were pretty busy last week from a transactions standpoint. In addition to adding more undrafted free agents, the Lions signed four veteran free agents: wide receiver Lance Moore, wide receiver Greg Salas, defensive end Corey Wootton and cornerback Chris Owens. What kind of contracts did these players get? Via the Detroit Free Press and Spotrac, here are the details:
WR Lance Moore: 1 year, $1,050,000 (signing bonus: $40,000)
2015: $970,000 base salary | $40,000 roster bonus | $665,000 cap hit
Note: Moore will only get that $40,000 roster bonus if he's on the team come Week 1. Also, it's worth noting that this is a minimum salary benefit deal -- actually, all four of these players got minimum salary benefit deals -- so Moore's cap hit is significantly less than his overall salary.
WR Greg Salas: 1 year, $745,000 (signing bonus: $0)
2015: $745,000 base salary | $585,000 cap hit
DE Corey Wootton: 1 year, $825,000 (signing bonus: $80,000)
2015: $745,000 base salary | $665,000 cap hit
Note: Wootton's contract includes a total of $150,000 in guaranteed money.
CB Chris Owens: 1 year, $745,000 (signing bonus: $0)
2015: $745,000 base salary | $585,000 cap hit
