On Wednesday, for the final time during OTAs, the Detroit Lions opened up practice to the media. As usual, this has given us an update on their unofficial injury report, and it's also given us an update on which players were not in attendance for practice. Via Kyle Meinke, here's the rundown:
Absent from practice
WR Ryan Broyles
DT Haloti Ngata
Sidelined from practice
RB Joique Bell
OT LaAdrian Waddle
Sidelined from team drills
TE Joseph Fauria
DE Jason Jones
LB Stephen Tulloch
LB DeAndre Levy
The list of players sidelined from some or all of practice really hasn't changed much, so let's focus on the two players who were completely absent on Wednesday. For starters, where was Ryan Broyles? Lions head coach Jim Caldwell confirmed that Broyles isn't injured, so it's likely that he is simply spending time with his newborn baby.
As for Haloti Ngata, he was also absent last week, and the Detroit Free Press indicated that he is busy moving his family to Michigan. It's important to note that OTAs are merely voluntary, and with a mandatory minicamp coming up next week, Ngata will presumably be back with the team shortly.
