The NFL offseason isn't all fun and games

As Detroit Lions wide receiver Lance Moore recently found out, you're never truly off the clock as an NFL player.

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

After the Detroit Lions wrapped up their mandatory minicamp in June, the non-rookies on the team parted ways for their final break before training camp begins later this summer. The rookies had to stick around for an extra week in order to attend the NFL Rookie Symposium, but now the entire team is on a vacation of sorts until the beginning of August.

The "of sorts" part of that last sentence is important, because NFL players are never truly off the clock. Workouts are assuredly taking place on a regular basis as players continue to prepare for the upcoming season, and then there's this:

Awkward is probably a good way to describe it. Lions wide receiver Lance Moore is just trying to enjoy the last part of his offseason and in comes "the pee man" to test him for steroids. On second thought, I suppose it's much more awkward to be the one interrupting players' vacations, especially given the nickname.

In any case, Moore followed that up with a tweet indicating his excitement about being a part of the Lions:

Happy offseason, Mr. Moore.
