We're just two weeks away from the official start of Detroit Lions training camp, but it appears that some players aren't waiting until then to get some work in on the field with their teammates. Back in June, Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford revealed his plans for some pre-training camp passing workouts in Atlanta, and it appears some of his wide receivers and tight ends are now gathering for those drills. From tight end Joseph Fauria's Instagram page:
Feeling good and happy about heading to the Sauna that is ATL to run routes with the guys! Football is RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER Y'ALL!!!!
Wide receiver Lance Moore also tweeted about being in Atlanta, and I'm sure several other pass-catchers are already there or are on their way to get in some practice time with Stafford. These workouts won't be able to match a typical practice in training camp, but Stafford stressed the importance of getting on the same page before the actual work begins. From the Detroit Free Press:
"I think it's big," Stafford said. "I'm obviously in Atlanta quite a bit, so Calvin's right there, throw with him some. But try to find a way to get together with some of the other guys as well."
One other note from Fauria's Instagram page: Lil Rufio is accompanying him to Atlanta. No word yet if he will try to take part in the workouts as well.
