Lions injury updates: Levy misses practice again

The Lions held their last practice before heading to Jacksonville on Thursday. Here's some info and injury updates from Wednesday.

  • Several Lions were out for Wednesday's practice, including: DeAndre Levy, Alex Carter, Chris Owens, Larry Warford, Caraun Reid, Ezekiel Ansah, Kyle Van Noy, Haloti Ngata and Joique Bell. Levy was out for the second straight day but Lions are not giving a reason for his absence, and there have been no updates about his availability for Friday's game.
  • Potentially good news on Kyle Van Noy: Along with Jim Caldwell mentioning Van Noy will not need surgery, running with trainers at practice could be a good sign that he'll miss less time than expected.
  • Caraun Reid was in a walking boot at Lions facility today.
  • The Michael Williams trade to New England is official, after passing physical. Lions will receive an undisclosed draft pick.
  • LB Kevin Snyder, who is on IR, has a couple of broken bones and is sporting a cast on his left hand.
  • WR Greg Salas discussed the competition for limited spots on the roster:
