The Detroit Lions have cut several players in an effort to get their roster down to 75 players by the deadline Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET. Here's a list of the players the Lions announced as released:
- TE Deon Butler
- WR Ryan Broyles
- QB Garret Gilbert
- WR Vernon Johnson
- RB Desmond Martin
- DT Roy Philon
- CB Jocquel Skinner
- CB R.J. Stanford
- DE Erik Williams
In addition to those moves, the Lions also placed cornerback Chris Owens on the IR list, but did not disclose the injury.
