Lions notes: Golden Tate restructures contract, Week 1 captains

Thursday, Golden Tate restructured his contract to make a little room for the Lions this year. Here are the details:

Source: the Lions converted $3.005M of WR Golden Tate's $3.75M 2015 base salary into a signing bonus, creating $2.25M in cap space.

This season, the Lions will be honoring Charlie Sanders, who passed away earlier this year, with a No. 88 decal on their helmets.
