Detroit Lions inactives: Levy, others out vs. Chargers

DeAndre Levy will not play in Sunday's season opener vs. the San Diego Chargers. Check out the full list of inactives for today's game below.

It comes as no surprise that both Larry Warford and Caraun Reid are listed as inactive for today's game, as they were both listed as "Out" on this week's injury report. The name that all Lions fans have been concerned about is DeAndre Levy, who will also be inactive vs. the Chargers today. The hope is to have Levy back as soon as possible, but it appears that the team doesn't want to rush him out there until he's close to 100 percent.

Filling in for Larry Warford at right guard will be Manny Ramirez, while rookie Laken Tomlinson will make his first career NFL start at left guard. As reported earlier in the week, Josh Bynes will take over for the injured Levy at WILL.

Here is the full list of inactives for the Detroit Lions:

That's Tim Wright the tight end, not Gabe Wright, so no need to panic about the defensive tackle depth. A bit of a surprise to see TJ Jones inactive here, as many of us believed he would immediately step in as a return specialist for the Lions. With Jones out, it's likely that Ameer Abdullah will get the nod to return kicks and punts.

LaAdrian Waddle was listed as "Questionable" and will not suit up today at right tackle. Cornelius Lucas will fill in for him as the starter. Nevin Lawson being inactive also means that the Lions have a lot of confidence in Quandre Diggs as a backup in their secondary right now.
