Lions notes: Joe Lombardi, Darius Slay and more

Today's Lions notes looks at a miscommunication between Joe Lombardi and Matthew Stafford.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

  • Darius Slay would like to be on the television show "The Walking Dead," but under one condition: he gets to kill some zombies. He also said he'd be able to juke out of the way of zombies. Maybe let your ankle heal up first, Darius.
  • This is pretty concerning: I don't know if this was Matthew Stafford's fault for not sharing this piece of vital information, or Joe Lombardi's mistake for not investigating his quarterback's injury more before calling the next play for him. Either way, this was a critical lack of communication between the two, and it very well may have cost the team the game.
  • Darryl Tapp had a birthday on Sunday, and he celebrated it like any normal football player: with a murder mystery party.
  • Most of the SB Nation's team of experts are picking the Vikings over the Lions.
  • Is this number high? This number seems high.
  • Saalim Hakim was official cut on Thursday to make room for the signing of Jordan Mills to the practice squad.
