The PODcast #3: Minnesota, Denver, reader questions

Alex Reno, Chris Lemieux, and Ryan Mathews take your questions, review, preview, and more.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

By popular demand, we worked - oh, we worked - to make sure that this edition of the PODcast would have structure and coherent discussion about the Detroit Lions, along with our usual discussion of fantasy football and beer. This week, somehow, we delivered. There is not only structure, but a pattern, a path and a guiding light.

You need that guiding light in these dark days with Week 2 behind the Lions and a grim outlook for Sunday's tilt against the Denver Broncos. We cover both the Minnesota Vikings and the Broncos in this podcast. We also introduce Quick Hits (name pending) to go around the National Football League and check up on a couple of former Lions (notably Suh and Moore) and the sudden news about the Rams potentially headed for the coast.

We also asked you for your best questions and you gave us quite a bit to work with! We tackled everything we could, including cheerleaders, food, Kyle Van Noy, and so much more.

Also, in case you missed it at the first link, we are now on iTunes! Subscribe there and you'll get these episodes as soon as they are published. I'm going to start getting them on additional platforms where possible - Stitcher is up next.

(1:20) QUICK HITS: Ndamukong Suh freelancing, the Kellen Moore era begins and ends in Dallas, are the Rams moving to LA?

(8:40) POST MORTEM: We revisit the horror in Minneapolis with Vikings/Lions. What went wrong, who takes the blame, how banged up Matthew Stafford is, and other fun tidbits from the awful Lions loss.

(18:45) EYES ON THE HORIZON: We preview the Denver Broncos as they come to Detroit on Sunday. What can the Lions do to plan for Peyton Manning? Will the Lions coming back help? How does Stafford survive Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware? We also pick the game because why not.

(25:50) MAIL BAG: We take reader questions from Pride Of Detroit. Should the Lions have cheerleaders? What can you hope for in a backup quarterback? What's up with Kyle Van Noy? Also, a very heated debate between pizza, chicken wings, and subs.
